(May 27, 2025) — The Riveters will be out to make it two wins from two road matches when they get a rematch with the Cleveland Force on Wednesday night at Krenzler Field on the campus of Cleveland State University.
The two squared off at Highmark Stadium in the season opener back on May 16, which doubled as the first match in Riveters’ history. Although the Riveters felt they had the better of play — a more than 3-to-1 edge in shots and a disallowed goal bear out that sentiment — the match finished as a 0-0 draw and each teams struck the bar once on a night of near misses.

The Riveters found their scoring touch in their last match, as Tanum Nelson made history with the first two goals in the history of the new team in a 3-2 win at Flower City. Lucia Wells also made it on the scoresheet it what felt like a comfortable win at the 80-minute mark, but two late goals conceded to very direct long-ball attacks will give coach Scott Gibson plenty to work on with a defense that, until that point, was unblemished.
Cleveland, meanwhile, backed up their draw with the Riveters with a second split decision — a roller coaster 2-2 draw with Erie. Hannah Pachan had the Force ahead in the opening minute, but Erie pulled level midway through the second half. Erie then took a 2-1 lead in the 89th minute, but Cleveland salvaged a point by responding a minute later with Addy Cusick scoring the equalizer.
The match will be the first test of how Gibson will manage his players through a congested schedule. The Riveters play again at home Friday, leaving only a 48-hour turnaround, the shortest length of time between matches the team will face all season.
