PITTSBURGH (April 2, 2026) — The Pittsburgh Riveters have secured another pair of midfielders for the upcoming season with Appalachian State senior Shannon Studer and South Florida sophomore Brooke Fabri set to come to Pittsburgh for 2026.
Studer, 22, has been a fixture in the Mountaineers’ lineup for four seasons, starting 63 of 68 matches played and logging more than 5,000 minutes in her career. Hailing from Waxhaw, N.C., a short distance from Charlotte, Studer posted six goals and nine assists for the Sun Belt school.
“Shannon has had an excellent collegiate career and will bring us more experience to our group,” Riveters head coach Scott Gibson said. “She is a very powerful midfield player and can score goals in a number of ways. Shannon also has a good eye for a forward pass and will link up nicely with our other attacking players.”
Fabri, 20, moved into an everyday starter role in her second season for the Bulls after appearing in every match as a freshman, mostly off the bench. The Phoenix native has a pair of assists in her career for a Bulls team that has reached the American Athletic Conference semifinals in both of her seasons.
“Brooke will bring a lot of energy, desire, and hunger to our group,” Gibson said. “Brooke had an excellent youth career at the ECNL club Phoenix Rising and has continued that into her college career at South Florida. She also has experience playing in the W League at Lexington last year, and we are looking forward to welcoming Brooke to Pittsburgh for the 2026 season.”
With a few more roster spots to be confirmed and announced, the Riveters’ roster for their second season is nearly complete. The team will arrive to begin a short preseason in May before the USL W League season begins on Saturday, May 16 at home against FC Buffalo.
