PITTSBURGH (May 8, 2026) — The Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Pittsburgh Riveters have joined with SportsPITTSBURGH on a multi-faceted partnership to showcase the club and the City of Pittsburgh as a premier sports destination.
SportsPITTSBURGH is the sports development division of non-profit VisitPITTSBURGH, which for more than 90 years has worked to expand Pittsburgh’s thriving tourism industry. As part of the partnership, SportsPITTSBURGH will be the front-of-kit sponsor for the Riveters in the 2026 USL W League season beginning later this month.
In addition, SportsPITTSBURGH has initiated a multi-year agreement as the presenting partner of the Riverhounds Tournament Series, which each year since its establishment in 2021 has been comprised of three youth tournaments hosted by the Riverhounds Academy. The Tournament Series features more than 300 teams annually ranging from local clubs to teams traveling to Pittsburgh from across the Northeast and Midwest states.
“From the pre-professional ranks of the Riveters to the hundreds of youth teams in the Riverhounds Tournament Series, SportsPITTSBURGH is proud to help fuel the growth of soccer in our region,” said Jim Britt, Vice President of Sports Events at VisitPITTSBURGH. “This partnership is about more than just the game. Together, we are investing in the growth of girl’s and women’s sports in our region, while ensuring that the City of Champions continues to forge its legacy as a premier sports destination.”
“SportsPITTSBURGH shares our commitment to growing the game, creating opportunities for athletes, and showcasing Pittsburgh as a premier sports destination,” said Jeff Garner, President of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Pittsburgh Riveters. “This partnership represents a natural fit between two organizations focused on community impact, player development and elevating the sport throughout the region. We’re excited about what we can accomplish together and proud to have SportsPITTSBURGH alongside us moving forward.”
The new partnership swings into action immediately, beginning with the RDA Spring Invitational happening this weekend at F.N.B. Stadium, AHN Montour Sports Complex and other venues around the Pittsburgh area. SportsPITTSBURGH also remains as the presenting partner of the Riveters Classic, a top-tier women’s college soccer showcase that had its first edition last month and will serve as an annual lead-in to the Pittsburgh Riveters’ USLW season.
This year’s Riveters kits, featuring SportsPITTSBURGH across the front of the jersey, will be unveiled next week ahead of the team’s season opener on Saturday, May 16 against FC Buffalo at F.N.B. Stadium.
