PITTSBURGH (June 19, 2026) — With results around the division falling their way, the Riveters can start making their postseason plans if they are able to get a result when they host the Cleveland Force in a Sunday evening contest at F.N.B. Stadium.
The Force have not been to Pittsburgh since the 0-0 draw in the inaugural Riveters match last season, but even that scoreline would be enough to begin the celebrations. A win or a draw would mean the Riveters clinch the Great Forest Division crown for a second straight season and book their spot in the USL W League Playoffs next month.
That isn’t to say the Riveters will be settling for a draw, however, as the team is able to clinch a top-two seed in the Central Conference bracket with two wins in its final three matches. Hosting for the playoffs is based on a bid process, so where those postseason matches will be played is still to be determined by the league, but the team will want to avoid coming in as the lowest seed, as they did a season ago.
As for Sunday’s matchup, the Riveters defeated the Force 3-0 in Cleveland back on June 3 behind goals by Taylor Green, Alexis Tylenda and Lola Abraham. It was the first home loss for the Force in nearly two years, but it did not come easy, as Green’s opening goal two minutes before halftime proved to be a pivotal swing in momentum.
Cleveland ended a three-match skid in their last match Wednesday, when they dispatched visiting Erie Sports Center by a 2-0 score behind second-half goals from Isabella Antonio and Mikayla Hau-Golden. It is also the final road match of the season for the Force, who wrap up their schedule with home matches against Flower City 1872 — the one team that could still catch the Riveters — and FC Buffalo next week.
The Riveters, meanwhile, will look to keep their stellar defensive record rolling. The team has not conceded since late in the 3-3 draw against Flower City — the second match of the season — which puts their current streak at 459 minutes without allowing an opponent to score. Green is expected to remain out as she recovers from a minor knock suffered last Friday against Erie, but Gabby Lamparty filled in admirably at center back and is likely to reprise that role with Piper Coffield also expected to be back in the lineup, allowing Brielle LaBerge to return to her usual left back position.
At the match, the Riveters will take a moment to celebrate Father’s Day as part of the Girl Dad Night promotion. Just for dads — and anyone else 21 or over — there will be $1 I.C. Light on sale before kickoff, starting at 4 p.m. in the Tailgate Zone and moving into the stadium when gates open at 5 p.m.
Tickets for the match are available through Ticketmaster and at the F.N.B. Stadium Box Office. The match will be shown live on SportsNet Pittsburgh (beginning. on SNP+ if Pirates baseball coverage runs long) with replays later on Sunday and throughout the day Monday. The broadcast also will be streamed live on SportsEngine Play.
